Welcome to Earth and Ember, a boutique, women-led, women-only studio offering calm, focused spaces for mindful movement. Located within the serene Parkside Swim and Wellbeing Centre in Spennymoor, County Durham, we offer a thoughtfully curated timetable of Yoga, Barre Fit, and mat-based Pilates classes. Free parking and all equipment are provided for your convenience.
Our classes are designed to support a wide range of abilities and bodies, with small class sizes allowing for a personalised experience. One-to-one guidance is available for those who wish to progress safely and confidently at their own pace.
Earth and Ember is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment. Our studio is LGBTQ+ inclusive and trans-affirming, with a strong emphasis on comfort, dignity, and wellbeing for all women who practice here.
To enhance your experience, we use handmade, locally crafted candles and essential oil diffusers from Rest & Restore, helping to create a calm, grounding atmosphere during classes.

Come and be a part of our soothing monthly The Friday Night Yin. Discover the transformative benefits of extended mat-based holds that enhance relaxation and rejuvenate both body and mind. Suitable for all levels, this session requires deeper and longer held postures for up to 3-5 minutes. Please note this session will be held on the final Friday of the month.

Ember Calm
Welcome to Ember Calm, a gentle Vinyasa yoga session that soothes anxiety and nervous system overwhelm. Through mindful movement and breath, we create a safe space for comfort and regulation. You have the freedom to move, rest, or breathe, prioritizing your needs. This practice is perfect for all levels seeking compassionate approach to yoga. Suitable for beginners.

Ember Nidra
Join us for a serene journey that blends the calming practice of Yin yoga with the restorative elements of Yoga Nidra. Experience gentle mat-based sequences designed to soothe your body and mind, you to fully embrace the meditative state of Nidra. Join us for a special day of free small-group movement sessions to celebrate International Women’s Day.
This is a space for women to move, breathe, build strength and feel supported — whether you’re completely new or already love to train.

Earth and Ember Events
From Friday 24th April, join us for a 6 week course for Women's Health. This gentle and supportive group blends restorative yoga, core focused pilates and light barre work to build strength, stability and functional strength. This will involve some work with light weights, but no experience is necessary. Classes are kept small to ensure personalised and individual support and guidance is offered. In this workshop we will be looking at nutrition, diet, pelvic health and have the input of a women's health physiotherapist. Leave each class feeling empowered, balanced, calmer with practical exercises to use at home.

Join us for a transformative Summer Solstice Yoga Mala! Experience the power of 108 sun salutations (Surya Namaskar) in a moving, meditative session that honours the peak of sun's energy. This solstice marks a time for, intention setting, and releasing stagnant energy, as we welcome new growth and ignite our inner strength. Embrace the warmth and light within as we together in celebration!
